Is it OK to clamp a dropper post to a repair stand?

I am wondering if it is OK to clamp a dropper post, in its fully extended position, in a repair stand to hold the bike up, and also, to potentially spin it around in the clamp to bleed the brakes.

Basically I am wondering if it is OK to get a standard style repair stand, or if I need to go for a euro style stand where you take off the front wheel like this one:

Should be fine to clamp the dropper (per park tools video). I haven't used a euro stand but my concern would be how do you work on your front wheel? For example fine tuning brake adjustments?

It would probably be ok but would depend on the quality of the dropper. Why not just take it out an install an old seatpost?

Clamping the top tube is better.
I would be wary of damaging the dropper post shaft before of the torsion.

See park tools video. They basically say if the dropper can handle the weight of you sitting on it going over bumps then it can handle being clamped.
