International delivery

Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive way to get an ebike shipped internationally?

I live in Australia and choices here are limited. I’m quite keen on getting a Bulls Evo 45 FS - there doesn’t seem to be a local distributor.

I occasionally fly to the US on business and was hopeful of buying one whilst over there, however, it seems the battery can’t be included on flights.

Any help appreciated.

Hi! What part of Australia? Maybe we can help locate a dealer nearby.

My Yubabikes was shipped by Bikeflights "bicycle shipping for cyclists" via fedex from the Los Angeles area. So see if a LA distributor of the bike you want can find that company and get your bike shipped surface freight. The boxes it came in was very impressive, there was no damage. An inner and an outer box for maximum strength.

Bike flights will not ship an Ebike with the battery unless you are a certified ebike shipper.
  • Q: Do you ship e-bikes?
    A: Yes, BikeFlights.com ships e-bikes.
If you remove and do not include the battery in your shipment, you can ship your e-bike like a standard bicycle. Our staff is available to discuss ways to accommodate this and give suggestions for alternative shipping methods of the separate batteries.
If your battery is not removable, you can ship with BikeFlights.com only if you have been certified as an e-bike shipper. This is because the batteries are considered hazardous materials. We adhere to our partner carriers’ requirements for all e-bike shipments, including proper labeling and marking of the hazardous batteries. Requirements for e-bike shipments including batteries can vary with battery size, and BikeFlights.com's Support is available to answer questions regarding the shipping of any specific e-bike. Note: You cannot ship an e-bike with a battery to or from FedEx Office locations because they do not handle Hazmat shipments.

Hi, thanks for the replies so far. I’m located in Melbourne if that helps.

It's a long shot, but perhaps have a chat to the stealth guys in springvale about the logistics of shipping the battery , or even the electric bike superstore in malvern ? I suspect most of the normal bike dealers aren't going to be interested in the legal implications of importing us spec bikes into australia, but if all you're asking is for assistance with battery transport , the worst response you'll get is a sales pitch.

I can't believe bikeflights would not subcontract the battery in a second box to an LA shipper who is certified a haz mat shipper. UPS shipped all 3 batteries I purchased.
