Interbike 15 observations

Just some general observations from the 1st day of the show.

-electric powered vehicles were on display in force: monocycles, skateboards, scooters, and of course ebikes including presence from Zeus Cycles, BESV, M1, Rad Rover and a host of others that are not considered mainstream brands. Even saw an enclosed 3-wheel ebike from Taiwan.

-Stromer ST2S was on display and has a tentative US ship date of April 2016

-Indoor test track devoted to e-bikes (very short track but nonetheless you could test ride Stromers, Haibikes, and others. At the time I was there, there were just a handful of folks taking rides.

Thanks for the updates! You're right on, saw a bunch of smaller newish brands there as well as the major players. Lots of smart phone app integration, cool lights, more streamlined polished products all around. I got some quick footage this afternoon, planning to go out again tomorrow. Feeling a bit better but still coughing quite a bit and not wanting to be contagious

One more obvious observation. I probably saw 25 bikes on display both e and non that had Shimano's DI2 system on it. Seems like every bike vendor was showing electronic shifting.

Hope you feel better. Bummer being in LV with a cold. BTW, you are right, I saw some very interesting clothing with embedded lighting for visibility. I also spent some time looking at Tapei Bicycle Show Award winners booth. Some very interesting engineering and design.

I saw a Copenhagen Wheel bike in the ebike demo ride area. Did anyone ride the bike? Impressions?

Thanks 86 for Interbike news and links . Please give a future update on those shoes , my feet have been slipping too. Interbike must be really great. I need to go to one .I can't get your award winners link to open on my phone. I'll try PC later. Congratulations to Stromer Team, they look real happy in photo. How you doin with yours 86. Every time I get on mine it's miles of smiles. Good choice for 2015 award.
