Ok, the same behavior for everybody? Not just me then? So the only way to respond to the for sale is to DM the poster?Look at any of the posts here in the for sale forum....you cant post on any of them anymore, for whatever reason.
Items and Parts for Sale or Wanted, By-Owner
Used electric bikes, parts and accessories for sale by owner. Avoid scams and deal locally when possible, meet in groups and in safe spaces. Beware of wiring money (e.g. Western Union), cashier checks, money orders, shipping. EBR is not responsible in any way for interactions and transactions...electricbikereview.com
It's not just this post.
I applaud the action in that area. Why do we all need to see the conversation between seller and potential buyer? What’s wrong with PM?Disabling replies to an entire subforum seems like an excessive overreaction to the actions of a couple of misbehaving members. It feels like the rest of us are punished alongside for their misdeeds. Nevertheless, the owners of the site have their right to make whatever rules they wish.
Correct, we just disabled this for only that subforum. I updated the description as well as the pinned FAQ in there to help, but it may take people time to get used to the change. This has been added to the text at the top of the forum: Posting replies is disabled on threads in this section. If you're interested in a posting, please private message the seller about it
Probably a good idea
I spent some time reading back through other threads in the "For Sale" subforum. I found quite a few where the replies were just pointless arguing about whether the price was fair. Others had replies such as "is this still available?" or "I want to buy it"... basically, replies that didn't add any value to the thread and would have better fit in a private message.Disabling replies to an entire subforum seems like an excessive overreaction to the actions of a couple of misbehaving members.
