Installing kickstand on Vado sl 5.0?

I just got a specialized kickstand for my Vado sl 5.0. It comes with two bolts.

I have a couple of questions:
What is the purpose of the two rubbery plugs in the chain stay?
Should the kickstand bolts be attached to the chain stay from the inside or the outside where the rubber plugs are..
Should I get some washers to protect the chain stay?
Am I overthinking the problem?

I have the EQ version of your bike. It has the kickstand installed on the non-drive side of the bike. Not sure if the kickstand you purchased will work that way of if your bike has same mounting provisions.

I can't tell from your picture.... Are the bolts screwed in from the 'outside' of the chain stay or the inside?

Sorry, the last pic was a crop of a shot of the entire bike. Here's a tighter shot. The kickstand on the EQ model is not mounted on the chain/drive train side of the bike. It is on the disk brake side. Hopefully this shot will show you how it was mounted on the EQ version.

Are you happy with the kickstand? When not used to hold the bike up, how far back along the stay does it extend?

It works fine except as Court noted in his review, it is kind of pointed at the end and will dig into soft surfaces. That is not a deal breaker in my view. Here is what it looks like when it is up

Hi, anyone any idea where I can get one of these please ?
Is it a Specialized branded kickstand, can't find one listed anywhere on the net, in stock or out of stock.

Mine was furnished with the bike. Check with a Specialized dealer. They may be able to get one for you as a replacement part for a Vado SL 5 EQ.

I used the Contact US link on the Specialized site to ask about the "remote power buttons" for my Creo which cannot be located on their site easily. They responded with the info in about a day.

I purchased my specialized kickstand from amain cycling (https://www.amaincycling.com/). They are currently backordered. I was able to find some sellers in Europe that had product on hand (although at a higher price) by searching using the product sku S179900045. I had to purchase the two black socket head cap screws from my local big box store as the kickstand came without the screws. Please double check the screw sizing on your bike. When I measured using my gauge, they are M6 30mm; however, I came across another reference that showed as M5 30mm. Would be great if someone else could confirm for others.

Hey Daniel - do you know for certain if the screws are M6 or M5 at this point? I purchased the kickstand but it didn't come with screws and need to order some. Thanks

If they loosen, you'll hear it rattling before it falls off. Sometimes I put a long screw with a self locking nut on the inside on my rear rack attachments. Probably not necessary for a kick stand.
I would use Loctite Blue threadlocker. Kickstand is the first thing to loosen on a bike.
