So I think I have seen about every fat tire ebike on the internet now I believe I have it narrowed down to the final two options, the RadRover 5 vs the BPM Imports F95 17ah 1000w. But there is not a lot of information about the BPM bikes that I can find. It does have a 19'' frame rather than 18'' of the RadRover and has a 17ah battery with a stronger motor. But does a 17ah have much higher capacity than a 14ah battery that the RadRover has? Also I don't know the handlebar height on the BPM, I had put that into my list of questions for them but they didn't answer that one, so I may have to ask that one again. Finally they said the throttle speed is 25-30 If they understood me right which if 25 is the top speed then the speed is the same as the RadRover. I searched the forums about BPM Imports but couldn't find much, what do you guys think about BPM?

As much as I am not a fan of Rad Power Bikes from bad personal experiences, I would be extremely leery of BPM Imports LLC. It appears to be a one-man operation based in a Scottsdale AZ apartment with a very small sales volume, importing to and shipping from California Hangzhou Guanhao Bicycles of the electric variety.

Not familiar with BPM, so I was checking out their website. It would appear that the pictures of the F95 are showing a 1000w direct drive motor. Not just that, but they say it's made by Bafang - and I don't think Bafang makes a direct drive motor.
Maybe it's just a pre production bike in the pictures, but I would want to be REAL clear about what I was getting (direct driver vs. gear drive).

It does seem that I kind of now what I am getting more with the RadRover rather than BPM. So a direct drive motor is hub motor that doesn't use gears? I see what you mean about the picture, from the video review that I did watch earlier it is a geared hub motor and not what the picture shows.

Hey all. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of BPM Imports. They have several ebikes listed on their website and I'm curious to know if anyone have had any experience with them and their products...

I am pretty sure I want a fat tire bike since it is an ebike. I know they are harder to pedal but pedal assist helps with that and I want extra stability when going at speed. I kinda want to go with the BPM but there is so little reviews of their bikes it is worrying. I guess if nobody has had this bike here and can testify I should probably go with the RadRover to be safe.
For the future is it possible to put this mid-drive/battery on the radrover 5 with the controller/display upgrade from Bolton? And would I also have to get the replacement ebrake sensors/gear sensor? But If I am going to upgrade it that much I probably should just get something else like the BPM.

A few things.
First, if you decide you don't like the bike and want to sell it, which bike would you think might be easier to sell?
Second, fat tires and gear driven hubs pair up well. Not so much direct drive rear hubs.
Third, regarding that kit, mid drives generally use internal controllers. I would want to know if it's possible to change any controller parameters, or if you are locked in to what Bafang gives you. Mid drives aren't my "thing", but my understanding is Bafang has them both ways.
If coming from a performance perspective, check out the MAC motors, and if riding in a hilly area, especially their GMAC.
Bolton's kit consists of KT based components that have been built with ends that make them a direct drop in replacement for the RAD bikes. There's a lot of info available on the Bolton kits, so I'm not going to write that all out here. I'll leave it at the fact I'm a BIG fan of the KT controllers and displays, and if you plan on replacing the motor AND controller, KT components are easily sourced and available for less than what Bolton get's for them. If you look into it and have questions afterward, I may be able to help you. I have a very heavily modified Rad City that uses a MAC 12t motor and KT based controller. Love it.... and it appears to be a factory bike. Only somebody that's really into bikes MIGHT recognize it, which is amazing considering it's performance potential. -Al

Think I better go with the RadRover and I will look into that stuff you mentioned when I upgrade it at some point if I do. The RadRover is a good bit cheaper anyways. Thanks for the help concerning the upgrades. I just wish the battery was more integrated into the frame on the RadRover.

That's actually debatable. If you keep it long enough to wear the battery out, or manage to tear it up some how, to the point it needs to be replaced, I would MUCH rather be looking for something like a RAD battery vs. something "built in"/proprietary. One of the beauty's of RAD is they don't have much in the way of proprietary parts. Everything is available everywhere.... keeps the parts reasonably priced too!
One plus regarding choosing a Rad E Bike is there are a bunch of videos available on use,accessories,repairs etc. out there. When I was looking for a quality rear rack&bag system for my Rover I found plenty of info on what would work best. I selected a Topeak rack&bag from Amazon and more than half the reviews were from Rad Rover owners complete with pictures.

While there is no aftermarket battery that's an EXACT match, finding one that will adapt easily should be a no brainer. Looking forward to the day mine dies, to be able to justify going to 52v..... -Al

Consider picking up the phone and calling them. If they are waiting for a container ship from China, it may well be more than a little longer. They may not tell you, or they may not actually know, but at least it's worth a shot.
Same for Ride1Up - they're waiting for a boat.
That was one reason I chose the RR Step through. It was in stock. Ride1 kept pushing their date. It was March and now it's Apr. 21.
Don't know for sure but I don't think it's been very long. The new Step Through is still in stock.
