Is there a limit on how low you can let the battery get? Or does it start to cut out or lose power at a certain percentage?

On the Turbo, the battery can go down to around 3% before it cuts off the motor entirely, but below 20% it will no longer allow full TURBO mode, instead cutting back to ECO mode. The tail and head lights keep working even at (and below) 3% for up to 2 hours.

Unfortunately we had a rainy weekend so my wife was only able to ride a little on Saturday and only used about half of the first charge so thats why I was wondering how for she let let the battery drain before we charge it again.

John, I did a 16.1 mile ride yesterday. About 50/50 between ECO40% and TURBO modes. When I got home my battery was at 56%. I charged it anyway. As I understand it, the 300 charge life span till 75% battery effectiveness is based on full 100% charges. The SPecialized manual suggests that you keep the battery at least to 75% when storing it for any length of time.
John I think the industry language is misleading owners.
When they discuss battery life in terms of charge cycles, they are referring to FULL charge cycles i.e. From 100% to the low voltage cutoff.
There are plenty of charts that demonstrate shallow charge cycles increase battery life. The Chevy volt for instance is charged only to 85% and the engine recharges the battery pack to keep it above 25%. The Volt only uses 60% of its capacity, and it comes with a 10 year warranty
So u should charge your battery every day that u use it. And if you can time it, only charge it to 95%.
