Himiway battery pack

Hi guys,
Last week I took delivery of a Himiway D-5 Zebra, really pleased with so far BUT on assembly I noticed the battery has no mention of being Samsung/LG which Himiway state in their advertising.
Battery safety is a concern of mine so I felt reassured when I read their advertisement.
Do any of you have any experience of this issue with Himiway? Are the cells in the battery pack actually Samsung/LG?
The question has been asked on the Himiway Facebook page but they haven’t responded.
Thanks for any help with this.
Andy.

I can't offer any specific information on Himiway batteries but the brand of cell is just one consideration. The type & quality of construction, as well as the BMS are also factors which can contribute to battery accidents. The best thing to look for is UL certification which takes all this into consideration.

ANY lithium battery, regardless of quality, can fail if it isn't treated properly. Just dropping one can cause internal damage that isn't visible. I cringe every time I see a biker, after loading his bike at a trailhead, just throw the battery on the back seat. An accident or sudden stop could send it flying.

I would expect Himiway to follow thru and use brand name cells, if they advertise them. Meanwhile, follow the recommended charging procedures, like not leaving it on the charger unsupervised, don't charge in freezing weather, etc,

Those of us who carry spares have probably watched in horror when they fell off the bike. I have.
