High-capacity battery incompatibility for XP2.0, maybe 3.0

Bought a high-capacity Lectric battery a few months back during the Black Friday sale. We have two XP2.0 st bikes, very happy with them and the standard batteries fit perfectly.

The new high-capacity battery has to be "forced" to connect when unfolding. In other words, there is considerable resistance to closing the hinge, and when closed the charging port is offset just enough to prevent charging plug insertion. It appears the new battery connector end is several millimeters offset when compared to the standard battery end, and closing the hinge forces the battery down slightly, placing the charging port off-center (see photos comparing both battery charging ports).

I know this is now a few months later, but I was out of the country earlier. Lectric has been surprisingly unhelpful, and when I asked for a warranty return a month ago, they said there was a "no return" policy on batteries! No warranty whatsoever!

I seem to recall an issue when the new high-capacity cells were introduced a few years ago, but haven't found the thread yet.

I could certainly enlarge the charging port with a drill or file, but then of course the rubber plug wouldn't provide a seal.

Lectric Customer Support did mail to me a couple of self-adhesive white plastic washers about an inch in diameter, presumably to force the inserted battery from shifting down and offsetting the charging port, but then of course there would be additional stress of the electrical connectors when the hinge was closed.

I wonder if I received old stock several years old, with newer stock having a different battery end cap.

Any similar experience out there? Suggestions?
