Been riding bikes for quite a while, nothing serious, just to get around, trail bashing etc, got my first e-bike 8 years ago, had a Bionx kit fitted to a 2005 Mongoose Tyax, I went for this because I wanted something that I have to pedal, no throttle, this setup was great, extended my range, tour around the city, see things and places I would not normally get to, parking is a real hassle and costly these days.

Two years ago the battery was getting a bit old and needed a new one, trouble was Bionx was then only making 48v batteries up from 36v so an upgrade for a new battery and charger was going to be $1400AUS or so, and because the battery is proprietary with a serial bus control board inside.

So for a bit more money I changed the system for a bbshd and 52v battery from Luna, brilliant! Climbs any hill, shopping trips I use a Burley travoy trailer hitched to the bike.

A friend of mine bought a Valkree cruiser bike, I really liked the relaxed riding position, I was starting to get sore hands after riding all day, so twenty months ago I bought a Juiced Ocean Current with the extended 48v17.5Ah battery, I really like this bike, it's comfortable, don't get pains in the hands or a kink in my neck, can look around easier, so far have done 8000km on it, replaced the tyres after 5000km because the rear sidewall blew out from wear, fitted hydraulic brakes, a Brooks saddle and handgrips, and mudguards, sorry fenders :).

Hi dAz63,
Welcome to the forum
Sounds like you have a great set up there for commuting
Just curious if you bought the Juiced Ocean Current in Australia
I reached out to Juiced last week to see if they ship or have an agent in Australia and was told they don’t ship internationally

Yes, I bought it from Sydney electric bikes and I think the agent they get it from is cargocycles.com.au

Welcome to the forum, "long-timer!"
Looking forward to my first visit to your fair city, next fall!
