Great to join you from the English Marches on the border with Wales, where there are many quiet lanes for cycling! We've had our e-bikes since 2014 and still think they are amazing especially in hill country like ours. Both are KTM e-styles and we've ridden over 5k but unfortunately after 6 years the batteries don't hold their charge and they are no longer available, so we are back to our 'real' ones while we work something out. I'm going to be posting later on asking for advice!

Welcome to EBR. Lovely country for cycling you have. There are folks on here that have rebuilt batteries and such that may jump in, but if not consider posting in the DYI or repairs thread. And really, 5 years from a battery is not bad at all.

What a lovely thought. Riding down quiet English country lanes on a nice day with nowhere to be, nowhere to go .... with a charming pub or two along the way. Ahhhhhhhh 🥰

And oh yeah, (got lost in the reverie there for a mint ) Howdy and welcome from Texas. Where our lanes are not quiet ever.

Well, it's serious money but new batteries and base plates must be available. Just a bit of bolting on and wiring up to do. No?

Is your bike similar to this? I would think there would be at least two ways to get a new battery to fit to that bike if it is.

Hi Reed, yes there are some lovely lanes, but unfortunately the pubs are closed here at the moment! Next year will hopefully be much better for all of us though :)
You have the right model - it's been great to ride - I had an illness which made a normal bike impossible and this really did the trick and I'd like to keep it going if I can. I have just posted on the Maintenance part of the forum - and I had the battery re-celled but the company that did it messed up the BMS and that's rather reduced the options! My husband is pretty good with electrical work and very practical but would be wary of tackling this without some sort of wiring diagram - or at least a plan of action, so any help or advice would be most welcome.
