Hi from Cambridge UK,
I have been considering buying an electric bike for a couple of years now, illness has prevented me from riding any significant distance oh my touring bikes for the last 2 years and I finally took the plunge last week and bought a Specialised turbo Vardo SL 5.0 EQ. I’m really glad I made this purchase, it’s made cycling a whole lot of fun again. I can now go for longer distances, ride up the hills that I was previously unable to do and if the mood suits me when I’m on the flat I can switch off the electric motor and just cycle it like a normal bike. I have replaced the supplied pedals with Sylvan light alloys but that’s the only modification I’m going to make. The bike was supplied with the new Specialised Mastermind user interface and from what I’ve read this appears to be a very useful upgrade to the 2021 bike.
