sorry in the picture it's not clear which one is burnt.
is it one of the transistors? (MOSFET?)

Anyways,

if it's under warranty, I'd just get a new controller.
it it's not under warranty, I'd use this as an excuse to upgrade it to better controller.
Hi and thanks for your reply my bike was under warrenty but rich bit just fobbed me off bought a new on and the bike just done the same to the next controllers ordered new one again not sure what to do to be honest

Sorry I didn't quite understand what's going on.

1) You contacted Rich Bit, and they fobbed you off
2) You bought (a) new controller(s?)
3) It sounds like your bike was done (done what?) at the same time you ordered the new controller
4) Now you're not sure what to do

So you have a broken controller, that's in the picture.
And you also have a new controller? That you already bought?
My bike has blown the new controller just the same new one on order

I think he has blown the resistor in the top left corner. I also see a blob of solder on the shunt resistor. Have you been trying to get more current out of it? Was it being overvolted?

It also helps if you identify the manufacturer of the controller, or its max current rating.

THe added pics do show that the resistor got pretty hot.

The resistor, by the way, is probably part of the DC-DC converter circuit that takes the 48V battery voltage and knocks it down to 15V to power the gating circuit for the MOSFETS, The 15V further gets knocked down to 5V with a second DC-DC converter. That powers the microcontroller and also gives you power for the sensors. I have schematics for KT controllers, and that' the only place they use a high wattage resistor, as part of the voltage converter circuitry. It means you were sucking too much power. I think most of that secondary circuitry isn't high power, but I guess that if you were spinning the motor fast/furious at top speed, that the gating circuit has to switch fast too,

Does the bike have a headlight? Did you change it out for a brighter one?

You couldn't get rich bit to give you a new controller, but you did buy one. DId it come from rich bit? How long did the second one last before it blew out? Did it run the bike for a while? What was going on when you blew it out the first time. Just sitting around and it popped, or what?

Have done nothing with the bike but ride it carefully I suffered an heart attack had a quadrupole by pass the bike helped me get out at first but been nothing but trouble since that first month

Se that 50V number on the small blue capacitor in pictures? What is teh voltage printed on the larger capacitors?

thanks every one think i will just throw the Brocken bike in the back of the garage please every e biker out there never touch rich {s*it} bit :)
