I can buy one of the following three Stromers. Please cast your vote on what you would buy :)
Do note that I am not in the US, and the prices are just converted for comparison to each other.

I wouldn't buy a Stromer again unless you paid me or have countless time on your hands to wait for parts. I am on my fourth week waiting for two wires that may hopefully fix my Stromer st1 so it will actually work.. Maybe in Europe things are different and they have a good avenue of suppliers for parts.
If I had it all over to due again...I would buy a Riese and Muller e-bike.....its a much better built ebike with comfort in mind unlike Stromer.

This is a good reason, This is a good reason, NOT to take a Stromer which is no longer on official sale - the quality of an Stromer depends alway on the skills of its dealer.

Bluecat, what do you mean by “which is no longer on official sale “ ?

He means that if you go to Stromers webpage, the ST2 is no longer part of their catalogue, which means there's a chance parts are harder to come by, or that you might have a less than ideal relationship with your dealer, if you bought your bike used.

Well, I tried the R&M, and I wanted to like it. But it's more expensive than a Stromer, and it's not nearly as fun to ride. So I'll take my chances :)

Oh i see. Ty for reply. That’s too bad , b/c for only a 4 year old ebike not to fully support it anylonger is a no no in having long term customers.
Not everyone can purchase a 7.000$ ebike EVERY YEAR .

Well, I might have good news after waiting 4 weeks for two replacement electrical wires for my stromer st1. I should have the bike back in running order by next week.....and guess what.....am going to sell it as fast as I can while it still works..lol...Stromer has lost me as a customer forever! There has to be a better e-bike company that will stand behind their products and which would like repeat business again in the future.

Between his imperfect English, and parables, it’s impossible to be sure what he means.
Considering the importance of original question being asked, and bluecats knowledge(when bluecat speaks..........),
Prolly best to answer in German, directly, so member KNOWS what your opinion is, instead of guessing.
Me, I have no idea what he is saying in this thread. My guess- ‘buy all three’.
Oh yea, my vote is for st3, if standover height is not an issue.

Ein Stromer ist nur so gut wie sein Mechaniker.

I've made this statement years ago - and it is still valid. Keep it in mind.

It's correctly decrypted, the ST2 is no longer in the official catalog. Not difficult to guess, the ST1x will be the next model which will be ceased. Then, all Stromer will be on the 27½" platform. Conclusion: Take the ST3 or the new ST1 with the bigger battery.

Very sorry to hear of parts woes. I've had an ST-1 for coming on 5 years; I've put on over 13K miles and have been very happy with it. Fortunately I have excellent local support (well, not so local anymore, but they pickup and dropoff the bike so the fact my local shop is an hour drive away matters less than it might).

For pretty much any mechanical / electric hybrid device, good local support ultimately matters. For any design, the tradeoff between COTS parts and bespoke parts is tricky. The latter may perform better, integrate better, etc. ... but represent a long term support hazard.

as for the original poster, I remain a fan of the ST-1 family. With the excellent e-assist, I don't think a front derailleur is worthwhile.

My biggest gripes about the design really net out to:
1) Would have much preferred eyelets for front rack (use a Thule Pack n Pedal instead)
2) easily detachable display/"computer"
3) "City" kit is absurdly hard to install; I'm not a fan of fenders in general, Euro lights (much prefer blinking/pulsing) nor the rack.

If you don't have good Stromer shop support, you might want to consider another brand. If you do have a good shop, I'd confer with the mechanics about what's likely to be most supportable for your expected use-cases.

Ex Stromer fan, had 8 of them 0 worked well enough for my standards. All ran wonderfully when working. USA support has gone down hill. 2 different Local dealer gave up their brand 2 different times my bike was in for repairs . I recently had 3 bikes an st1 ,2, and 2s all in the shop at once leaving me nothing to ride , parts under warranty taking 2+ months. St1 still there, has no comm error, traded in the 2 for a bh motion and the s I spent 280 for labor and no parts this time while still under warranty at a Stromer dealer but not purchased there.

Just not worth the aggravation when spending more money on what is supposed to be an upper level brand

I’m curios what Bh did you get and also if you ever considered getting either the M1 Spitzing or the Greyp ?

I like the poll! The only Stromer that I ever used long term was the ST1 Limited https://electricbikereview.com/stromer/st1-limited-edition/ and it worked really well. I loved how quiet and powerful it was... the display was a bit basic, but the rest of the bike looked amazing. It's cool to read your feedback about newer models. I cast my vote for the ST2 used model based on how much I enjoyed the ST1... looks like I was the only one to vote that way 😂

01, I wrote you previously that I bought a Nitro. We chatted a bit in another thread. My Nitro is ok but the torque sensor...it won’t go at a steady speed only faster. it stops supporting and then slows down and you pedal harder to get it engaged again then reparations , going all out runs fine.rides great!

court, the 2 had a bad reputation until the 2s and was supposed to be reliable....supposed to be!

Yes, I remember now that we chatted.

In level 3 and 4 PAS isn’t the motor just pulling hard/surging b/c those are 650-860 watts levels ?
Or even in level 2 Pas it pulls to around 26-26.5mph then if pedaling the same rpm it stays there , pedal less hard it backs down.
But level 4/5 it’s always a nervous “city tiger” accelerating or surging fast which i greatly like and enjoy.

They both (Stromer/Bh) have the same torque sensor-TMM4 i think it is.

If you check P6 or P7 in the center mount display it will show the Torque sensor value/calibration- should be bet. 0.9-1.2 from what i remember ? Mine shows 0.9.
To calibrate it , go +\- on the small screw on the TQ sensor plate. Or the shop can do it expertly.

I’m looking to put a 750watts or 1kw motor and have the controller/battery upgraded to 52v. That would make it the perfect commuter ebike.
With 55t ring that i put, mine does 33-34mph top speed. It rivals the ST5 for top speed but lacks the really high end bits....
