Hello - just got an e-bike and wanted to say hi.

I ride on a local trail. I want to use it for shopping and photography. Not sure how to best secure it from theft. I did a 37 mile ride and used 7% of battery in the way down and 12% on the way back. I want to build up to 70 miles, then 90, but I am still experimenting with handlebar position and saddle height. I wish it came with a Brooks saddle instead of the Velo gel... not a fan of gel saddles though this is better than others that I have tried. I don’t feel that it’s easier to bike that distance than on my Bike Friday ( no battery) but it is faster and I am more likely to go more often because it can be fun.

I am replacing the saddle on the Gazelle with one from my other bikes.
Ordered new clipless pedals that will be arriving in a week and adding bar ends when it arrives in a couple of days. Also ordered an AXA cable extension to complement the lock that came with the bike and finally ordered a trunk to put small things in.
It is going to get heavier!

Haha, yes. One wonders why fret a few pounds for a lighter frame if you’re going be throwing on extra stuff anyway. An easier solution would be to lose the extra few pounds of body weight....like that’s ever going to happen.

I never seem to lose weight, over the last twenty or so years I have weighed +/- 10 lbs. too heavy which is 10 to 12 lbs. over BMI, it must have something to do with eating and drinking – we must have our simple pleasures.

Update:

It’s been about two months since I got my Gazelle Ultimate T10+ and I wanted to give a shout out; it is everything I had hoped for! I liken it to driving a Duesenberg of the time. It is large, beautiful, heavy, comfortable, fast, powerful and handles great. Only about 350 miles on the clock but I know I love the bike, it suits my type of riding which can be considered urban discovery touring with light gravel travel, it meets those needs extremely well.
To fit me more I have replaced the saddle, changed pedals to half cage and half SPD, added a trunk, water bottle, and added a cable to compliment the Café Lock. I want to add a battery to make it dual battery but we will soon be having a weather change +100ºF, not cooler than 90ºF, maybe for four months, which is not conducive to long rides so I may hold off on the new battery so for now I will just use one battery and keep my radius of travel from home to under thirty-five miles.
