Hello fellow e-cyclists!
I’m Laura,
Very happy to be part of the group now! Looking forward to getting to know people and sharing the enthusiasm for ebikes.

I have tried three different ebike brands and the one I have now is the best bike I have ever owned.

It is by Epic Cycles and it is called the Blue Rev Ultra.
This has everything I could possibly want in an ebike.
It has 20 by 4 inch Kenda Sport tires, hydraulic brakes, 48 volt 21 amp battery (with options of 17.5 and 14 amp for a lower price point) it folds but has a very sturdy frame.
It comes in a mid-step and an alternative step- through.
The bike has front suspension with lock out. It has a seat post with suspension, (which I didn’t get because I’m too short:(
it has an integrated rear rack, it has a front basket that is bolted on but comes with the bike, the bike can hold up to 440 pounds but it has optimal performance up to 300.

It has a variable thumb throttle, and is very peppy. I think it is very accessible for petite riders. It weighs 65 pounds.
With the 21 amp battery you can go all day and not lose a bar. It has a USB port on the battery.
I’m having lots of fun adventures with it.

My husband has the Rad Runner Plus and he loves it. He found that the Ultra was just not as comfortable for him as the Rad.
I like both the styling and versatility of these bikes.
Happy trails!

My husband has made a wooden box which will have a lid. The box straps onto the back of the rad with bungie cords for grocery getting. The Ultra and the Rad have integrated lights which are decent but we thought we wanted to have more of a presence because we often ride home in the dark. So we added lights. I have a mirror on the left side of the bike. We also added alarms on the bikes from Amazon. I’m getting the Rad fenders from the previous model Rad mini because though the Ultra comes with fenders they do not have a lot of coverage. I think the nicest accessories I’ve bought for the Ultra is the bike shopper panniers from Ortlieb. They hold a ton of things. Their velo shopper is also nice but has more of a rigid case. My husband had a thermal fabric lunch bag that happened to fit perfectly in the front basket.
My husband is getting a secondary battery for the Rad so we can go on longer rides.
