I have been commuting on a PIM for a couple of months now and like it so far.

PDX and it's burbs are fairly easy to bike around in. However a little while ago another person from the area posted a video of his route and there was a pretty sketchy two lane he had to contend with. I moved down to the coast last fall but had a good experience biking in the area while I was down there. I commuted in to NE from Sauvie Id. a bunch.

The assist makes the west hills a breeze and launching from stop lights/signs much better! Just be careful as the drivers around town still can be pretty spacey.

My Commute is from King City to Newberg, during this weather I put the bike on bus for all but about 5 miles per round trip. Come spring I hope this bike can climb Rex Hill to get home.
