I am deaf, used to live in London where I cycled on mechanical bikes for decades. Now I'm in hilly Bristol I am looking at getting an electric bike. I fancy a Gazelle because I want an upright, relaxed position. I don't like having any weight on my arms or wrists. I have test-ridden a few e-bikes, including a second-hand Gazelle Impulse, bought in 2015. The seller wants at least £800 for it, but I think this is too much because the battery is no longer supported. I see just one person on ebay selling the battery (from Germany), and they tell me they don't know how much longer it will be in production. I wonder if it's the same story for those companies that replace the cells in batteries? The thing that makes me hesitate about buying an ebike is the lack of sustainability - having to replace batteries, and the high chance it will get nicked. I wish I could continue with a normal bike, but I just can't deal with the hills. Anyway, nice to be here, and I hope someone will help me understand why I can't seem to post a thread over in the Gazelle section. Thank you.
