Having trouble getting replacement parts for a BAFANG MM G330.250

Hey all,

I bought a Voltbike Enduro last year and it's been out of warranty for a bit. It seems like the freewheel in the motor is broken (we believe) and I currently have it in the only shop in the Boston area that services electrics. They haven't worked on this model of motor before and don't have a resource for supplying parts. Both they and I have tried contacting Voltbike itself, but the company seems to have gone dark over the past few months. I tried calling BAFANG directly, but their english support line is in Chinese and is automated, so that was a dead end for me.

Hopefully someone here has some experience with BAFANG or getting instructions or parts with their motors. Both me and the shop are out of ideas.

Thanks for any help!

Try these websites for bafang motor parts:
https://em3ev.com/
https://lunacycle.com/bbs02-parts/
https://dillengerelectricbikes.com/spares/bafang-8fun.html
https://california-ebike.com/shop/bafang-pedal-freewheel/

(if you are talking about the 'freewheel', you mean the clutch) California ebike has it. Or just google BBxxx Clutch (xxx = your model of bafang, as in S01,S02, or HSD)

P.S. lots of these Chinese direct importers, that are what I call 'white labelers' are 'going dark' these days. More to come before year end...
(sales are really good this year for ebikes, but the laggards are getting trampled by the dust of the leaders. Even some of the former 'leaders' or big names, have made some really bad strategic errors, and having hard time getting back on their 'wheels') In 2019, i suspect you will see some big ebike/bike names go under, and really shock a lot of folks.

That's a lot of help, thanks. And I agree, it looks like the market is set to crash, especially with the possible introduction of tariffs.

If countries like Taiwan and China feel that the new tariffs would greatly damper their sales, they may do what the Japanese did when auto tariffs went into effect and bring their manufacturing to North America to avoid the tariffs. However, with the difficulty that North American ebike companies are having restocking their inventory due to demand, I have a feeling the tariffs will be just be passed along to the consumer in the way of higher retail prices. Personally, I'm surprised more of the Direct to Consumer companies haven't hiked their prices before the tariffs announcement to cash in on demand.

I tried em3ev, lunacycle, dillengerelectric, and california ebike. None of them carry parts for the g330.250 or can source them. The bafang kits they do support are aftermarket ones that can be attached to any bike, the 330 is integrated into the frame which is probably why they don't have anything to do with them.

Contact Biktrix. Their Classic Juggernaut has the BBS02 integrated into the frame. Roshan can probably help you out.

The G330 is a separate motor from the BBS02 with a seemingly totally different design. Would it share any parts? That's a good idea, though. Maybe another manufacturer using the 330 platform on their bikes can help me out. The 330 writeup on Bafangs website linked below.

Didn't know that. Reach out to Thomas Jaszewski here in the forum. He installs ebike kits. I think he does it for a living.

Bafang is a nightmare for parts access. The integrated frame motors aren't sold by many yet. As someone mentioned Roshan is the best bet. Luna is selling them but they've never bothered to be a parts source. California eBike has to work at having the BBSxx parts. From numerous sources. It's a huge frustration. The other possibility is the Las Vegas company, Chinese run, that has a relationship with Bafang.

I'll give them a try. My attempts to contact voltbike are still being held up by their bad service. I've managed to get through twice now, and both times they've promised to get the information and contact me back and just never did.

Picture of the part? Maybe with luck it is used in other motors? I’d guess not.

At 1.00 of the video, the circular thing with 3 fingers at the side is the freewheel clutch for the pedal and that is the likely culprit. If you are brave enough, you can look into it and maybe it's just gunked up and can be cleaned up to working condition again. If not, then you have the actual part that can be sized up and checked if existing Bafang parts can replace it.

Those videos should be very helpful in getting the shop to open up the motor. That 3d render especially since it shows the actual construction of the motor itself. Thanks a lot.
