Has anybody purchased a Battery from AliExpress?

My wife has a Surface 604 Rook (2018) and we are looking to replace her battery, I found this place called AliExpress that has a48V, 14ah battery for 257 US Dollars.
Does this sound like a scam?

In my opinion, not a scam, just a inexpensive battery with generic brand chinese cells. In my experience, they don't last as long as grade A Samsung, LG, or Panasonic cells,

Suggest you keep looking for a vendor that has the Reention Dorado in the right size, with brand name cells.

For example theres a 48V19,2ahpack in this aliexpress Unit Pack Power listing that advertises LG 21700 cells, for about $200 more. It's a taller battery though, and may not fit your wife''s bike.

And yes, I've purchased a few batteries from UPP direct from China and aslo thru the same vendor on Amazon. They use inexpensive non-balance BMS. I opened the last one I got. Constructed well, but cheap cells/BMS. I was not thinking when I bought it because it was only 48V10Ah, Kind of small.

I think most of the fires that have been caused by e-bike batteries have been from inexpensive non-UL-certified batteries.
