HAIBIKE 2017 28 MPH?

They have 3 S bikes for 2017
  1. Haibike XDURO Urban S 5.0 Electric Bike -2017
  2. Haibike XDURO Race S 6.0 - 2017
  3. Haibike XDURO Full Seven S 7.0 Ebike - 2017

Haibike Urban Plus with Tranzx M25 GT motor rated at 250 watts. This S pedelec bike could only mean one thing, it can go many many miles before the battery is depleted. It has the form factor and speed of the Stromer and it has great climbing finesse but undercuts the stromer's price by almost half.

Love the improvements on the Xduro Trekking. Of course, having just bought one about a week ago, I'm sort of wishing I had waited. But, then again, I couldn't wait!

Really excited about that new Urban bike, too. Can't wait to see what that's like in person.

One more to the list.
  1. Haibike XDURO Trekking S Rx 5.0 - 2017

That Haibike Urban looks like a Winora Radar Speed. Same shape, same drive manufacturer, same battery size. And both companies are part of the same group... The US version has a beefier 500 watt drive though.

You're right on. It's Winora Radar Speed

How do you like the Trekking? Curious how it does off road.

I love the Trekking RX. It's a great ride. I haven't tried it off road, however. The tires don't seem to me to invite that kind of use, although they'd probably be just fine on a basic fire road here in Marin. But the rest of the experience has been great. The only thing I'm unhappy with is the rack, and that's a fairly easy replacement. (The rack that comes with the bike is very heavy duty, but the bars are so thick it makes attaching Ortlieb panniers difficult.)

Interesting - so that means it doesn't use a Bosch Motor - seems to use one of these: http://tranzx.com/

From what I have seen, the European Sduro Trekking 6.0 2017 models have the 500 Watt motors and are setup for the equivalent of 28 mph with 48T on their double chainrings. American Sduro 2017 models have the same 500 Watt motors and same 36/48T double chainrings. I assume they are electronically governed for 20mph but otherwise are probably the same as the European Sduro 2017 models and 28 mph might be possible with slight mods ??
