Ground breaking sleep technique

I have to be straight with you and say that this technique is a bit strange. I can't fathom how it works, but it does something, perhaps something to do with when we perhaps slept in tree tops a couple of million years ago....something like that, long lost, but still the remnants in our DNA.

I made the discovery by pure accident. Let me explain: when I am ready to try and fall asleep, I wear a comfortable black eye mask and lay upon my side. I always listen to talk stations on the radio to drift off to, hopping between four stations using the preset buttons which I can operate in the dark by feel, needing only to reach my arm out to the radio by my side. However, it sometimes takes time to find which station to listen to at that moment as I have to have a little listen sample of each, so my hand is out over the radio for often some minutes. As you would expect, this places an uncomfortable strain on my arm. So, if I am laying on my right side, then it is my left arm reaching out to the radio. However, I discovered that I could easily use my right arm and hand to hold up my left outreached arm. The height was perfect, the placing was perfect, and the whole 'structure' held itself in place with no effort at all. In the dark, with this all in place, I noticed that it actually felt very pleasant. My right arm, braced vertically upright, taking the weight sort of.......sort of felt like my arm had become detached from my body......I was after all holding my arm up taking the full dead weight rather than my body doing that.

At this point something happens to the brain. Somehow the brain approves very much. Perhaps it feels my arm is safely around a tree branch. The brain feels secure and soon and suddenly, in this strange state, unconsciousness comes.

The only problem is that as soon as sleep comes the 'structure' collapses and wakes you up. But this is a work in progress, the trick being to dismantle the structure just before sleep happens.

Way to complicated for me. I am an early Bird, have been all my life also I work alot which I like, probably makes me a workaholic. Never had problems falling asleep and when I goto Bed its lights out usually within minutes perhaps seconds. REM comes easy, I will be fully rested within 4-6 Hours.
Cheers

Lucky you! It takes me at least an episode of Perry Mason to drift off. That and a glass or two of vino!!!

I have sleep headphones that I listen to a bit of audiobook on. The headphones put the voice inside the middle of my brain, so it pushes out my own thoughts. It is thinking thinking thinking that keeps me awake. I put on a 30 min timer so the audiobook just tails off. By then I'm asleep. You have to select the book carefully. Can't be so good that you want to get onto the next chapter, nor so bad it annoys. Has to be read in a voice and accent you like and find relaxing.

Usually my Brain is multitasking all Day in my Office on overdrive. Friends and Customers in my age Group (70-80) envy my memory. When I need to relax I can be found in my Shop repairing/inventing/fabricating things in Metal. After 17.00Hr. Sundowners are allowed in my case Diet Coke with Rum but after 18.00 its Red Wine only otherwise the Coca Cola screws my Sleeping pattern. In my Seasonal Business (4 month per year) I am up at 03.30 Hr. usually beating the Alarm Clock. Then work which I love and done for over 50 years, is outside in unpolluted Mountain Air in remote Wilderness all Day in every kind of weather. Trained myself long time ago to turn my Brain off the moment I hit the Sack. I rarely take any kind of Medication, it works
Cheers

So interesting. I usually don’t have trouble falling asleep, but my wife does. She recently started exploring options at sleep country calgary for a new mattress and linen. She’s been researching different types of mattresses and bedding to find something that might help improve her sleep quality. Sleep Country Calgary has a wide range of products designed for better comfort and support, and their knowledgeable staff can offer personalized recommendations based on individual needs.
