Hello folks, glad to be here. For years I have restored and ridden vintage steel road bikes and the odd aluminium one. During lockdown I thought I'd take it one step further and have a go at an e-bike. Apart from the interest, I wanted to be able to commute to work without using a polluting car. After lots of research I bought an old Carrera Kraken MTB, stripped it down and built it up to work well around a BBSHD. I designed and made the battery box myself. You can see the result in the photo. Since the build I have done a year of commuting, missing just 3 weeks either side of Christmas during the darkest days but otherwise enjoying all weather! I've also done another one of these conversions for a friend.
