Great Ebike Lights Resource

Hi guys, someone named Randy Stortroen left a comment on my Raleigh Redux review today with some good thoughts and comparisons to the motorcycle industry. He was saying that it's nice to have some lower priced e-bike options that are "naked" but upgradeable with things like lights or racks... And he shared a link to what looks like his web resource all about bike lights that I thought some of you might enjoy too! I recently shot a video with @Chris Nolte showing some of these lights and will post it soon as well.

Here's the website that I thought was worth exploring: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) and I welcome feedback from you guys on which ones have been tried and how they worked for you. Lots of the models I have been reviewing for 2018 do have lights, but even some of the more expensive bikes seem to have "see me" vs. "let me see" type of lights. The Supernova V6 and M99 seem like good options if you actually want to illuminate the path. Which other ones are working for you guys?

Yes the Supernova M99 Pro is what I went with on my Haibike. The tricky thing about this light is the install is not completely plug and play. Most people would need a shop to install. Supernova supplies some really tiny Press fit in line splices with the light. This type of splice is only designed for wires of the same gauge. Once you open up the motor cover you find out that the main battery harness has wires that are much thicker than the design specification of the splices. The best install would have a person or shop do a legit splice and solder job. My estimate is it would take about 2-3 hours to disassemble and install. Also worth noting that this install virtually voids your factory warranty. If Supernova is listening they should work with Bosch to make prefabricated cable harness.

The performance is amazing even on low beam. It feels brighter than many car headlights. One other nice thing about it is you can toggle the high beam to get the attention of drivers.

“Roxim 400 Lumen Ebike Light, Handlebar On/Off Push Button, 6-85V Input Range, and StVZO Compliant Optics. Powers from Cycle Analyst”

I just added lights from ebikes.ca aka Grin. I really prefer headlights meeting German standard. They are like auto lights. They ligh5 the road. Not oncom8ng traffic.

The Supernova lights are the most popular that we sell and install but the Light and Motion Nip & Tuc systems (http://www.motostrano.com/E-Bike-Lights-s/3650.htm) are a good alternative, a little less expensive and also flash, which is a rare find when it comes to ebike lights. But for pure power, the M99 Pro is the ticket if you have a 12V system, otherwise the other M99 models are great too.

I thought we were not to link to sales pages except in appropriate forum?
