Gravel Class 3

Trek Verve @ goes for $2750 brand new. Not a great deal for a used bike. The components are just ok.

my thoughts: if you want a class 3 get a class 3. Unlike “acoustic” bikes, electric bikes are very unforgiving so buying what you need “brand new” from a reputable manufacturer and dealer can save you time, expense and aggravation. Plus there are safety and warranty issues to consider.

This this this this this this this. Nothing wrong with the Verve, but its a class 1 and fairly low end, and buying secondhand might be an issue if you need warranty support (also, note that installing aftermarket devices like the speedbox can void the warranty). The Covid bike market is what it is, which means used bikes are going for a lot more than they do in a normal market, so there is that. But if you can swing a bike with a warranty, class 3 from the factory I'd definitely go that route. Unlike a normal bike, the motor/battery/controller components are not really user serviceable.

Thanks everyone, kind of my thoughts as well. I'm just going to start saving up and get what I want.
I keep coming back to the Yamaha's. Seems like they are a lot of bike for the price.

Agreed on the Yamaha. The Civante at $3400 is a well specced class 3 that looks pretty versatile. Put some 40s on it and it would make a great gravel/pavement combo bike.

the Yamaha Civante is a nice looking bike . It seems to have the features you are seeking. The price is on target as well

Stopped by the LBS today and they happened to have one of these.

Nice looking bike checks a lot of boxes. I can't ride yet but going to keep it in mind.

Nice bike…. Gazelle has a good reputation as well.

Well,
I pulled the trigger on a Gazelle Ultimatet10+
I got free shipping and no tax so I got the midstep version!
I think my stable is complete!

I like your choice of bike!
I have the Ultimate T10+ high step – it is a wonder full bike.
Wasn’t really sure what a gravel bike was, didn’t even know I had one – it was called a hybrid when I bought it – it was set up for Dutch riding originally by the LBS, soon changed.
I put bar extenders lowered to allow for a better aero tuck without having to replace the bars.

It is never complete :) I congratulate you your choice. The same level as respective Specialized or Trek e-bikes. Many happy miles!

Technically it's not really a gravel bike, you are probably more on track with a hybrid/adventure/trekking bike but it still fit my needs and price point.
I think I'm going to like it as soon as I'm out of the doghouse!

It's here! Very smooth transaction so far! Ordered Monday from Fly Rides USA in San Diego. Very well packed and the people are VERY responsive.
One small ding on the fork brace and the light was snapped off the wires pulled out. I could fix the wires but the mount is toast.
It's a beautiful machine!!!
