Got my new Neo Cross today

Went for a 30.5 mile ride today in Sports mode. Did the ride in 1.5 hours averaging about 21mph. Pretty much the same route as before. All level ground with the only elevation change being going through the underpass.

When I got back the battery was at zero bar, but the motor was still working. I did noticed that the power seems to decrease once you hit two bars and below (cruising speed slowed to 18-19mph vs. 21-23mph). At zero bars, it seems to go into limp home mode. The power is still there, but it's no where near as powerful as it was when the battery was fully charged.

Speaking of the battery, it sure does take a long time to recharge. It's been nearly four hours and the battery light is still red. I'm not really complaining since I'm only riding the bike once a day right now, but it would be nicer if the recharge time was quicker.

nice mercedes ;)

Thanks. It's actually my daughter's car. Well, originally I got it for my wife, but she never drove it. She gave it to our daughter, but she's too young to drive. I end up driving her around in it. She knows every function of the car, including how to change the massage settings on the seats! She figured that out before I did. o_O

Went for 37 mile ride today on Standard power mode. Average 16.50 mph for the entire distance. When I got home, I still had three bars on the power meter, which is really good, but I could tell that in Standard mode, the bike was making me do most of the work.

The ride was made better, and faster, by two additions. The first was a couple of behind the seat water bottles. Thanks to this post for the ideas.

The other item that made the ride a lot sweeter were the addition of the Shimano PD-M520 pedals. These are a God send. They make spinning so much easier, and I don't have to worry about my feet slipping off the pedals, which happened a few time with the stock pedals.

With the new mods, I am enjoying the Cross a lot more. I've put nearly 350 miles on it since getting it two weeks ago. That's more than I put on my car in a month. Looking forward to tomorrow's ride.

Nice to meet you @John Chow, thanks for all of the updates you've shared! It's great to see pictures and hear a first hand account, especially when it's well written :) Easy Motion makes some great electric bikes and for me the entire ebike space is really fun and interesting because it can change the way people interact with their city, friends and even their health. Here's to more safe rides, good luck with those accessories - seems like they're working pretty well. I was actually curious which seat bottle cage mount thing you ended up buying? Looks pretty good.

Hey Court,

I went with the Minoura cage mount, and some Avenir bottle cages. I ended up removing it because the bottles I was using kept falling out. I lost two bottles so far. I'm looking at maybe going to a Camelbak solution now.

I have put over 1,000 miles on the Cross since getting it. My latest mod is replacing the stock seat with a Serfas Performance RX Saddle. It is so much more comfortable than the stock seat. I can ride all day now with out any soreness. I highly recommend this seat to anyone looking to upgrade their current saddle.

Hey @John Chow, the saddle looks awesome - almost like it was meant for the Cross! Thanks for the photos but sorry to hear the bottle cages didn't work... that's a bummer. I've used CamelBak systems before and they work really well (and give you some extra space for keys, wallet, phone etc. so that's coo :)
