Got me a Stromer ST1 Platinum!

Hey everyone!

I got myself a Stromer ST1 platinum. All I can said is WOW. I love this bike. I commute 28 mile one to way to work a day. It takes me about 1 hour and 17 minutes to get to work. My average speed is about 23 mph on touring mode but there is about 7 mile of the trail that I have it in power mode. I would get to work with somewhere around 47% left on a good day and about 21% on a bad day on my battery.

Nice work Cuong! Did you get it with carbon forks for your mostly paved commute?

I am probably one of the few that got the hydraulic forks suspension. I preferred it over the carbon fiber due to. I didn't care for the riding characteristic of the carbon fiber fork. Even though I love the way the carbon fiber looks on the bike. I didn't care that I feel every bump and every little rocks on the road.

Here are a couple of pictures of my bike with the suspension fork:

I think the fork looks sharp, especially in red! I wanted more efficiency (and am used to a road bike) so I went with the carbons. Bike looks awesome though

Nice looking ride Cuong! I prefer the suspension setup as well. The other day Chandlee (from Electric Bike Specialists) and I took a couple of ebikes off road and he has the ST1 with the carbon fiber fork. It still worked well (was smoother and quieter than the Neo Xtrem) but made my forearms and wrists a bit tired and sore after navigating such rough terrain :)

I came very close to purchasing emotion jumper. After riding one and seeing how smooth the ride was but in the end I want with the stromer because I would be using it for a commuter. I needed the speed! Now if the jumper had the speed it would have made it a very tough decision!

It all depend on the road that your on, hills or flat roads. My commute is pretty flat. I would said you can get 35 to 40 miles on touring, 40 miles + on city mode. This is averaging 23 to 25 mph. Hope that helps.

Looking around and found the Stromer has a recall on the carbon fiber fork so I might like to buy a st1 with shock unless they can prove to me it's fixed

They provided serial numbers of the affected forks. You could check against that. Afaik this is no longer an issue. This is 2 years old news I think.

There was a recall on the carbon fiber fork. They did correct the problem. if you do buy a used st1 just check to see if the fork have been recalled.
