Lots of interesting upstarts coming onto the market in the eBike world. Thought it would be a good place to catalog some of them.

This one is a kickstarter project.

The Gi Bike

(Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

Comes in an ebike flavor and a traditional non-electric bike flavor. Price unknown at this time.

Claim is the bike will fold up with one movement in about 2 seconds. Low weight under 40 lbs, 15mph limit, up to 40 miles range on battery power alone.

That geometry does not look like it will work, the seat situation in particular, then the hinge. Max weight 80 Lbs?

EDIT: Now that I've seen the reverse angle, I could see it being strong enough (140 lbs). Nice design work. Looks a little unstable with the guy riding in the video, I wonder if it will occilate above 25 mph? -S

Q: What is the recommended maximum weight limit?
The recommended maximum weight limit is 125 kg (~275 lbs).

Q:How fast is it?
On electric assistance It’s as fast as 25 km/h, 15 miles/h (which is the maximum possible, legally.) You can pedal over that to achieve a faster pacing, although it’s not recommended in heavy urban areas.

They didn't make it on their first run but they achieved so much international press that they got an investor. They will be back on Kickstarter in September for a second go.
