Getting Molly grease off my Parka.

A wise old shop teacher once said to me, "I know exactly how you feel, you know you're not stupid, you just can't prove it."

Learned a new trick today, at least if you decide to work on your bike in your expensive down parka(please don't). My parka is your standard, polyester shell, down fill, parka. I accidentally got green molly grease on it. My Parka is black and this worked like a charm:

Carefully scoop up the globs with tissue paper. Continuing to use said toilet paper, wipe off the rest and use another hand rolled wad of toilet paper to "erase" the grease like erasing pencil marks with a rubber eraser. Next wipe the dingle berries off with a warm, wet paper towel. My Parka looks brand new. Hope this helps some one else. Stay warm out there.

Proper LPT for removing grease stains here; Get a can of isopropyl spray and spray from the opposite side through the cloth onto some tissue - the alcohol drives the grease out and onto the tissue. Grease stain gone.

I also damaged my new down parka. Ripped a couple holes, Duct tape wasn't holding, Down flying thru the air, A patch kit is $9,99 on amazon but we went to Hobby Lobby where a nylon patch kit is about a dollar. It really sticks well. ,

I have used Brake Clean or parts cleaner in a spray can. I have even used it on old oil stains and gotten them out as well. Put a rag on the back side , Spray the cleaner on and use another clean rag to rub it. Throw it in the washing machine and it should be good.
