Can I make my Bafang CST 500W48V rear hub motor climb hills better by changing the reduction ratio of the gears inside the hub?
I have the impression that it comes standard with a 5:1 reduction ratio but that this could be changed to 6:1 with different gears. I suspect that this would provide 20% more torque at the expense of lower performance at high speeds.
Is that correct? Can this be done easily? Is this something that people do?
