This reminds me of an early ai study of tumor imaging that showed the AI algorithm appeared more likely to interpret images with rulers as malignant. The algorithm inadvertently was trained to recognize such findings as malignant as images presenting a Malignant melanoma had rulers more often than benign lesions
 
So the Chinese made a top performing AI model for 6 million using 'allegedly' lower performing chips.
A week later Berkley did it for 30 dollars.

i don't really follow AI, but is this a case of "whoever copies others IP fastest wins."
 
This seems legit, checked as best I can.
Just ludicrous already.
