Full suspension ebike

Hi! Me and my spouse are looking into getting electric bikes and we are wanting something with full suspension that can ride paved trails but also all mountain terrain. Looked at the Specialized Turbo Levi in store but would love to hear some others opinions of different bikes in a possible better price range! Thanks so much

Trek has Black Friday sale and this would be an excellent mountain bike with the latest hardware in the market.

They come in several different sizes.

Welcome 😊

If you want a much better price for similarly spec'd bikes, buy consumer direct but you may need a shop nearby that will service CD bike brands. Unless you're DIYers, of course.

Haibike dealers can be far-between locations (maybe none in Canada), but by far the best Black Fri/Cyber Mon deal I've seen on an above-average eMTB is the 2019 XDURO ALLMTN 2.0. Looks like they have it in four sizes, too.

Hi - we also are in the market for e-bikes in Canada (Alberta) - our local bike shop was able to find a somewhat dry area and hill for me to try out the specialized, giant and trek - for me, the specialized just jumped to the front, it was so quiet didn't even know I was pedalling an electric bike, so different from my previous rentals of e-bikes over the past few years, but really all 3 were great bikes to tryout, the bonus for me was the specialized levo comp (2019) was 20% off, I think there will be some good deals if you keep an eye out as the bike shops get rid of their 2019 inventory, my wife's choice is still up in the air as she does not want to ride the challenging mountain trails that I normally do on my regular mtn bike but we want to spend time together doing paved, rail and moderate terrain, so we are going back to the shop next week for her to try a few lower cost items, of course, buying 2 ebikes counts for a discount, good luck on your choices - chinook winds blew in today so hopefully will dry up our latest snow storm, just chomping at the bit to get out on the Levo

Nice looking bike and color combo. Reminds me a bit of the Focus eMTBs styling. Looks like Trek has kicked it up a notch again.

During your search, you may want to consider an eMTB with a Bosch, Shimano, Brose', or Yamaha motor. Specialized uses Brose' and Giant's line of E-bikes use Yamaha motors with their own proprietary firmware. These are currently some of the the leaders in the industry and most popular among many bike manufactures.

Consider that a hardtail 29 might work better. Just depends on your typical riding.
Specialized are special bikes. 🤣
If'n I had money to burn I would have a half-dozen in the garage. 👍
A full stable would suit me just fine. There are so many different models I would love to own as well. Just keeps getting better.:p

Rachelle,
Congrats on your search for ebikes. They are so much fun!!
Although I have no knowledge or experience on mountain bikes, I can strongly suggest that both and your spouse test ride as much as possible.

Please post what you decide to buy!

picked up new specialized levo comp this afternoon good to go once this snow melts a bit more, just couldn't get the bike muddy on the first day, but there is always tomorrow for it's maiden voyage, hope the battery likes a cold climate
Twin Valley-Congrats on your new purchase. That is sweet looking ride and the color looks like a gloss metallic finish with the lighting in the right direction. I see you have a RS Revelation suspension-fork. Nice choice of components on this. I assume it is a 2019/2020 model? Looks like you will certainly enjoy being in the mud now (when the timing is right)! ;)

Haha nice! We are in Alberta too :)

Consider bringing at least the batteries indoors - not storing at sub-zero temps. Heat kills, but cold makes them lethargic - they function best at normal room temps, like 60-80 degrees F.

I'd like a Turbo Levo, even the hardtail one but there are no mountains around ;-) A little joke but it's true.

I agree with you Chris the fully suspended Turbo Levos are for professionals. I wouldn't take the risk of riding a carbon frame e-bike. I crash too frequently and why should a good carbon frame go to waste so soon :D
I apologize for my frivolity but (exceptionally) I had a rather large shot of Bloody Mary with Polish vodka :D Not riding now!

Don't worry Stefan - my other hobby is brewing craft beers. Especially the euro dark ones. 🍻

Ride...drink beer...repeat. 🤣

I don't want to go off-topic but I am a fan of craft beer, too, Chris. Thanks to America that taught the rest of the world brewing craft beer! I once brewed a West Coast IPA with an experienced friend but now we have a large domestic craft beer market in Poland and it is easier for me to buy beer in one of two specialist stores in our neighbouring small towns. Of course, as much as you are interested in brewing European styles as much as I am interested in American beer styles, such as strong, hoppy and bitter IPAs, Barley Wine or Imperial Stouts. I'm sure you would like Imperial Baltic Porter and man, I can tell you almost every Polish large brewery can make excellent or decent IBP even if the rest of their lagers is a crap :D

Let us go on topic now!
