Front light that can run from intuvia micro USB port
Bike lights that charge by USB are not designed to charge and run at the same time. There are a few that will run while they are plugged in, but internally they are not charging. Your best bet is to install lights designed to run off of your Bosch system. There are several available, and then you can control the lights with the light button on the display.

There is not a lot of power to be had from the USB port on the Intuvia. There is so little power from the display, that it sometimes is not enough to charge a large display phone that is running its screen on full brightness.
Depending on what model year your bike is, there is a dedicated light port on the motor, either 6v or 12v. If you do a lot of night riding, it's worth it to find a nice light that can take advantage of that accessory port.
The only other options are solely battery powered, which many have a decent output.

Thanks for the replies, I don’t need a light to charge from the USB port, just be powered by it, it does not have to be a powerful light as it’s just secondary to my Cateye Volt 1200, so a low power flashing one would be fine, I like to have a constant light and a flashing light front and rear for when I commute on dark country lanes.
Anyway, if a small flashing light cannot be run of the USB port I’ll keep using my little AA battery powered one.

You can get USB recharging lights that can go for 8 hrs in flashing mode. Much better than burning through batteries and finding places to recycle them.

Bosch ebike systems only give half an amp of power, which isn't enough to run anything beyond a 'reading light' style of light. There are other, better options.
One option is to run a dedicated 6V or 12V light from a port in the motor. The process of connecting it isn't difficult, the only challenge is that motors are sometimes tightened with a lots of torque (like, >20Nm) so you might need a long wrench. I've done this sort of installation, it's not hard.
The other option is to run a light directly from the battery (e.g., Supernova). There are lights that can feed directly off the 36V batteries. The installation is a bit trickier because you are expected to strip the connector cable and crimp it together with the Bosch main connector cables. Interestingly enough, it doesn't just patch into 36V/GND but also into the CAN data lines.
Supernova has integration with Magura MTe brakes which is even more fun, if you're after a challenge. Their low/high beam switch connects directly to the reverse side of the brake handle, and using Y-splitters the brakes integrate with the rear light. You brake, rear light intensity is increased. Of course, it's Magura brakes, not to everyone's taste.

Hi Sinar. Did you ever find a micro USB POWERED bike light? I've got a BH with a 6V port and I would love to run a powerful light off it.
