Front Freewheel System with BBS kits

I came across this video about a front freewheel system and was wondering if this could be a solution to the problem with BBS motors slamming the gears while you shift.

Assuming you don't use a GearSensor, this setup would allow you to change gears while coasting. Since the motor is off at that time, there is no slamming of the gears. With a standard setup, the motor also shuts off while you coast, but you have to pedal to get the gears to change causing the motor to engage again.

Light squeeze of the brake pedal on a BBS02 also keeps motor off while shfting. Or you can use it as a throttle only bike.
