Florida Legislature considers problematic provisions that threaten cyclist safety.

Bikes are intended for bike lanes where there are cargo moms and kids in the mix and multi-use paths where people are pushing baby buggies and walking dogs. Bicycles are not intended to 'compete' with cars in traffic. Motorcycles are and they cannot go in bike lanes or MUPs. Also total speed is a huge factor, like if you get doored, or hit a pothole and crash. Bicycles generally and specifically things like helmets and tires are not designed for high speeds. DOT approved products are.

What’s arbitrary about this?
“Yet HB243 and SB382 arbitrarily cap Class 3 e-bikes at 28 mph”
Isn’t that pretty much the defacto limit for class 3 already? As others have said, if you want to go faster pay the price and buy a motorcycle. Most cities i have biked in are very reasonable about letting me ride where “no vehicle” signs are posted, and anything that increases the power, speed, and risk of e-bikes could change that.

I have quite a big experience about London. Personal cars are a disaster there, and these make the city suffocate. Buses, taxi, coaches are OK, and any transport related to deliveries or any form of professional use is OK there. Otherwise, personal cars are a tragedy for both the traffic and the car riders. I know what I'm talking about...

A bicycle or an e-bike is decidedly the fastest mode of transportation in London UK.

I'm surprised cars are allowed at all in the busy places such as Piccadilly Circus...

The problem is how do you switch, bicycle theft in London isnt just out of control, its also completely ignored by the police, in fact its pretty well treated as your own fault.
That alone puts people off investing and you cant have everyone on Boris bikes, its very difficult and the various cures inject their own problems.
Bringing back a big box on the tube?
OK order it off Amazon then...high street shuts down.
Ban cars, freakin bikes everywhere and Surron riders picking you off on the way home.
The numbers are irrelevent, enough people feel too vulnerable for it to take off.
Sadiq says crime is down, yes it is...reported crime is down because nothing gets done anyway and people adjust their habits to adapt and forced riding a bike isnt going to be a thing until theres enough momentum and percieved safety in numbers, thats before we address London weather.

Yes it is lovely, I rode around all day trying to find fault and there were none except there are actually signs everywhere banning bike parking or leaning them against fences, obviously its just the sheer number including drunk tourists from Liverpool.

The center of my town has the turning basin. It is where up to 100 foot boats can turn around to get back to San Francisco. Obviously nothing can be built there. So, having bike parking under it would be a great use of space. It is close to the bus and train stations. For a short time as a kid, I lived by a B-52 air field. Seven stories under the Olympic pool was a little room. The idea being that when the pool flash evaporated it would provide some cooling.
