First good crash and burn today thank you doggy.

Foof, another thing, I try to cut friendly neighborhood dogs slack, but if I´m chased by a pit or another dog
with ill intentions, animal control will definitely hear from me. Most dogs here know me. I tell them they´re
good dogs when they bark at me cuz that´s what they´re supposed to do with strangers about. There was
a German shepard used to go nuts when I rode by; now he scarcely even looks up. I´m the same as you when
it comes to bike paths; I´ll even come to a stop if a dog might do something stupid.

I keep a 10 ounce can of counter assault bear spray mounted to my handlebars for easy access in case of a wild dog attack.

OTB today, dog came bounding out of long grass in an "off leash" area. It was a rutted up downhill section and I managed to find the biggest rocks to have to avoid. It didn't go well...

Bike is fine and just a scrape on knee and a bruised chest where the bike landed on me! Helmet did it's job again. The knee that needs replacing is a little sore, but only a little more than normal.

Dog owner was shocked and super apologetic, but stuff happens. If my technique was better, it probably wouldn't have happened.

I really hadn't planned to do any technical today, just some easy path and trails to stretch out a sore back (sciatica), but decided to go via a shortcut through a ravine. Nothing like a crash to really get a good stretch!

I was attacked by a Doberman while riding up a steep hill back in the 70s. Damn thing jumped up and latched onto my tricep and tried to drag me off the bike. I poked it hard in the eyes, it let go and I rode down the hill as fast as I could for almost 6 blocks with it running after me. I went back later with a friend and a pipe and found the ‘owner’. I told him he’d better keep that dog tied up or I’d make damn sure it never had a chance to get a child in it’s sights. I also tipped the police about it.
Doberman's are Not Social dogs, and should NEVER be running Free. Extremely Irresponsible owner.

If your helmet did its job, it is time to replace it.

Specialized Ambush Comp with ANGI sensor is now on order. I ride alone a lot.

And my body is telling me, in very clear language, that "you crashed today!". Nothing damaged, just an overall ache.

I wish I could say that I still have the big lump that itches and hurts at the same time. the bruise though better has now run down below my knee.
