Finally landed on a eBike!

I've been hitting the virtual pavement looking for my first eBike. Questions abounded like "do I go economical?...What kind of after-purchase support is there?...are the customer reviews accurate?...how far will it go? Is it well made?"

If you're reading this, then you most likely understand that road to discovery.

Experienced enough "cheap" purchases in my life to know that didn't need to happen for something I'm going to entrust my life on...so I nixed anything on Amazon. Dug into YouTube reviews and found these three letters plastered on the good quality reviews...E B R. Narrowed the search down to RadPower and Electric Bike Company. Both seem to have a great online presence, support available through all typical channels, and their bikes don't look like they are mass-produced for the big box stores with no-name parts.

So, I read the story behind EBC and was duly impressed...along with the fact they actually design and build the bikes to order IN THE USA and I can personalize it. As a bonus, who doesn't want to get a bike delivered that you open the sides up and roll the bike out, tweak the handle bar and you're off and riding? Extra nice touch. EBC truly has given a tremendous amount of thought in to the littlest of the details. When I saw they own the battery company as an investment for their quality and future, I was impressed. This is where EBC pulls WAY OUT FRONT of RadPower.

Ok, decision made. Oh, and the wife wants one too! I reach out to EBC and am responded to by their National Director of Marketing & Sales..with such a great enthusiasm and willingness to help me get the right bikes. Feels good to get a response within 5 minutes and having that conversation move to iPhone text for quicker replies.

Sure, I'm paying more for TWO solid bikes (Model X and Model Y) that have an incredible 10 yr bike and 5 year battery warranty backed by a US company that has a passion for the eBike community.

Now, the waiting starts for the day I get to open my box and ride it!

Good luck with your EBC... it sounds like a very nice ride with good warranty support.
You may want to consider other than a single-speed cruiser if you like to ride hills. ;)

Summary
  • A value priced entry from EBC for just $1,299, available in 24 custom colors with an adjustable stem, bike can be made to order with other options for color and accessories

  • Powerful 48v 10.5ah battery pack cleverly designed to hide at the base of the front basket, powerful Tektro hydraulic brakes, impressive they were able to fit high end parts on such a low cost bike
  • Bright integrated lights help you see at night and keep you visible in traffic, smooth and responsive 12 magnet cadence sensor, easy to read backlit display with a deep dive menu
  • Bike is a bit heavy and the weight and cost goes up as you add accessories, some of the steel parts can get scratched so be careful with custom colors, and is only single speed

I've read a few posts that hills aren't an issue with the EBC bike....and I ordered the long range battery, so I've got the power!
