Finally got the external battery holder added. trek wants to sell the whole thing with a battery all built but I have three external batteries do I did not want another battery. he had to go to great lenths to find all the parts and figure out how to put it together. but it was far cheaper then buying another internal battery

I notice the nyon only shows 1 battery. I think this is because of the light icon. that wont turn off on the trek. its not a big deal but something I noticed.

That battery display in the top line of every screen is the percentage average of any batteries fitted to the bike.
If you want to see the indicidual percentages you need to add a display and select the dual battery display from the Systems Menu. Battery 1 will be the first battery mounted, at least until you remove or power off the Nyon, and after that if you have 2 inserted, the POwertube might be Battery 2. Maybe it goes by battery serial number, I never cared enough to find out.

So now you have enough batteries and cables to properly see if your Tandem can display 2 batteries, without having to rely on that dealer you like.

I did not see two batteries in the systems menu but I will l check again its not a big deal as each battery is within 1% of the other when I check each one. the tandem is still on warranty not going to drop the motor and run wires. thats why I have a pro to do it. Plus it will be when we have some down time.

just checked and made sure I checked with both batteries but the nyon only shows e bike battery not both. I wonder if they did away with it? like I said they drain so they keep at the same level so its kind of pointless.

So have you already flashed the Firmware on all your batteries to the same revision. That is a prerequisite for dual battery to work. I don't know what the failure mode is, as I did this before connecting 2 batteries.

And my batteries do NOT stay at the same level, Drain starts from the more charged one, and it is drained until it is 5% below the other and then they swap, and this process repeats.

Why do you think staying at the same level is pointless?

And I'm so impressed with Bosch information about updates that I decided to stay on Nyon FW 2.0.3.0 until a positive benefit emerged. Maybe you've gone to 3.0.0.0

I had them all updated last year when the update came out. the setup works its jsut the nyon does not show both batteries. it shows the range for both batteries just fine. I am not worried about the nyon showing both batteries since the system keeps them balanced. maybe the last update did away with that? I have found the nyon more stable now after the update. I have made three days of commutes on the two batteries to test them. were I would only get one day of commute with 10 miles or so left at the end of the day.

Are you saying you have looked for the battery display in the System Menu and you can't ind it.Do you know how to make a new screen?

yes and yes I have setup my nyon several times. I didn't to make a new screen I have the max I just edited one I don't use. it just has ebike battery nyon battery and phone battery. choosing ebike battery just gives you the total of both.

do you have the bottom tile in the attachment in your screen. From your text it reads like you haven't, but I can't tell. I suppose you may have it selected but have the wiring screwed up and it's only displaying one. You didn't do any wire splicing did you?

So now you have it finally working, do yout batteries stay within +- 5% of each other as mine do, or do you still believe they stay within 1% as you said before.

I only checked it once and it was 1% but it ma bye months before I use a second battery. its pointless on my commutes. once the tandem is setup I can but no hurry for that.
