Fender / mudguard mount question

Hello, my 2020 Explore has bosses ready for a fender set on the front RST fork.

However these bosses point backwards towards the rider, unlike other mounts that is the side of the fork or axle area.

Is there a name for this type of mount that points backwards?

You see the 2019 models have an option here ... Note the 90 degree bend on the eyelet to match this setup

Don't know what that is called but I purchased these fenders for my Explore E+ 4 (2020). They mounted quickly and with full 3/4 wheel coverage looked awesome. It gives the Explore a very Retro-British look. Unfortunately when I swapped over to 60 mm wide tires I had to replace the fenders because of clearance and width issues. If you stick with 45 mm wide tires these fenders are uber cool!

I do not know if the mount has a common name, but if you want to use traditional stays, you can buy this adapter.

I don't understand why many e-Bikes are poorly equipped for touring or trekking. No water bottle bungs, no fenders..really.
