So I posted on here a couple of weeks ago and got a reply for my tire liner fat tire 20"x4.0. However I've not been able to locate any tire liners 'in stock' anywhere. IVE purchased from carso bikes but their inventory didn't match records so, I'm waiting on the backorder. This is my commuter to work. Can I buy 20"x3.0 tires and tubes and liner and just downgrade, is that an option? What all are my options, can anyone help? TYVMIA

Here is the response from a Tannus Armour dealer cut and paste below.

We currently don't have 20" fat Armour available, but we plan to have something for your size tire before the end of the year. Start checking back in a month or so for this new Armour size.

These Tuffy Fat Tire Bike Liners are what you are looking for, they fit 26"/29" x 4.1"-5, which means they will fit our 20x4 fat tire bikes just with a bit of trimming needed, which is easily done with some scissors.

I understand that but have been unable to find it in stock. What else can be done, am i able to lower the 20x4.0 to 20x3.0, can anyone help ?

No you can’t, the rims are set at 4 inches...getting anything below that will not fit.

The tire liners I linked were in stock yesterday but it looks like you can still order them and get them on the 25th.

This will work?? I'm just making sure, i believe You are correct and I am being overly cautious. I don't want the bike shop dude to say: "He can't do it", and have to endure more stress :-/ TIA for the help and knowledge

I didn't see the link for the 20x4.0 only the link for the 20x4.1-5.0

Yes that size will work fine on 20x4, all that needs to be done is trim the liner...the opposite cannot be said for a liner that is too small.
