Explaining Human Behavior and so much more By One of The Very Best - Stanford Professor Robert Sapolski

Why would you be able to recognize a shade of color but someone in a different country may not?

Most of what people believe is because of what they are Taught.. OR Told.. I have not watched it but I will try and get to it later... People see what they want and I find it interesting that they will talk you down over a difference of opinion as you dont see things in their light, Or Call you a Troll or another label.. Which doesnt bother me, I dont care they have to label someone to make there point of view makes sense or give it Validity .

He's a terrific teacher. The answer to why you might be able to name a colour and someone from a different country might not be able to, is because we have names for certain colors, say "tangerine" or "lime" or "mummy" ( paint that used to be made from actual mummies stolen from Egypt and ground up). Other peoples might not have those particular shades named. Another example of being able to recognize certain things other might not, is we know what a ruler length is, so 12" is easy to recognize. How many hands high is a horse, is more difficult for us now.
We categorize.

How animals have eggs right in time for rainy season can be from the intensity of dehydration setting off reproductive system. Because organ dehydration predicts the next season's arrival .

And that kind of explanation supports why we do not need as many genes as was once thought, in order to have such complexity.

We can understand why something very bad isn't bad for the group. Why certain ethnicity of women have FIVE different ways to inherit breast cancer liability. How could something so bad for the individual, be so strongly enforced? It happens later in life, the children are grown, and a successful husband may get remarried.
Meanwhile those same genes help produce mathematics whizzes.

If you were in a theater with an adult male on both seats beside you and were told that you were sitting beside a serial murderer, would you look right or left first? I know I'd look left first.

That is an explanation which fits...we were taught using rulers of 12" length, in North America. I can still judge or imagine temperatures better in degrees F because that is the categorization I first learned. We can tell warm to cool "room temperature" pretty accurately.
