Check the distance between the magnet and speed sensor isn't too big and that its aligned properly.
It might want a small adjustment, but I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it causes an actual problem.
Maybe worth resetting the error codes and see if it appears again later.

Thanks Martsebike also the motor fails to run intermittently seems part of the same problem

Ah right, sorry I misread your first post and didn't get the full gist of it. So it is causing an issue.
Which Bafang motor do you have Coljas? I'm guessing its an G510/M620?
Definitely check the position of the magnet. That error code is normally refers to magnet issues on bafang bikes.
If that doesn't solve it. I'd disconnect the throttle and test it again.
If its still running intermittently that would suggest a problem with the cadence sensor or the controller itself.
But if the problem only returns after reconnecting the throttle - then the throttle appears to be faulty.
In any case it would help narrow down the source of the issue.

The motor is a Bbso2 750 it cuts out when on p assist making a grinding noise then fails to start for a while

So you're hearing a grinding noise too... Its quite difficult to diagnose from this description. Are you able to get a video of it happening? If so post it here and I'm sure members will throw you some more ideas.
The fact that the motor continues to run for quite a while after pedalling stops or throttle is released seems to suggest a controller problem

Possibly, but not necessarily. The motor does overrun by standard, typically for about 1 second or so. This can be changed using the "Stop Decay" setting in the Bafang Programming software.

Fair enough, from all you've said it is suggesting a bigger issue at fault, and the controller itself may need replacing..

Hi MartsEbike l have narrowed down the problem with error 21 speed sensor problem, have replaced speed sensor but still no joy the new one still doesn’t work seems like there’s no power to it no light when I pass the magnet passed it and no speedo reading on the display

Hi Coljas, sorry for the late reply I've been a tied up for the last few days so just seen this! I'd probably in inclined to double check all of connections again - also checking the pins aren't broken, but if they look ok then it does suggests the controller is possibly faulty.

The light should be on steady and blink as the magnet passes.
