eBikes? Or eMopeds?

I'm interested in Emopeds. I ride an ebike now. However, I also ride a motorscooter and am seeking an electric replacement as a transportation alternative. I don't own a car. The strength of an ebike is the ability to bring the battery inside to charge. The Escooters/Emotorcycles are that the batteries remain on the bike. I like that Escooters/Emotorcycles are harder to steal. What I don't like about them are that Emotorcycles are expensive compared to ICE Scooters/Motorcycles. They aren't high performance yet. Emopeds provide a hybrid with ebikes/escooters. I'm not sure that I'm willing or able to travel at 30 MPH. I would like about 70 MPH with good range (150 miles). I park my vehicles outside and bring the batteries in. I have checked out Zero Motorcycles, but batteries aren't able to be stored outside. The operating temperatures are not what I need during snow days. I currently ride a Piaggio BV350, but it doesn't work under 25 F, it won't start. I'm sick of powersports dealers who can't comprehend that Scooters and Motorcycles are commute vehicles as opposed to recreational vehicles.

I use public transportation as a back up. I won't ride my ebike in under 25 F weather, but I will ride my motorscooter in this condition. I'm not sure what you're looking for in this discussion. I would like to switch to an escooter. Even 60 MPH top speed would be good.

My commute is 14 miles one way for work, 5 days a week. I started riding my ebike exclusively and my Piaggio Liberty 150 may get ridden on the weekend. Lately, the scooter sits for 2 weeks straight before being ridden. I just enjoy the ebike more and like its ability to ride on the sidewalk if needed. Plus no oil changes, stopping for gas and other internal combustion engine servicing issues. And I agree with the speed of escooters such as the Vespa Electra and NIU escooters (though I like the GT) being restricted to 45mph max, that's moped speed, so I'll just stick with my ebike. I'm happy at 20mph max and if I need to go faster I may upgrade one day. Juiced makes a emoped that does 30mph and has full suspension, yes I've been tempted. My ebike serves me well but unlike you I have 2 cars and have no issue driving if the weather gets foul.

I think there is a basic problem with limiting power instead of speed. Going up steep hills, facing headwinds, etc. requires power not speed. I am fine with 15, 20, 25, or even 30 mph, but I would not want to be restricted to road use only. I had a motorcycle before I bought an ebike.
