ebike with paint damage

Hi,
Just curious what you think. I ordered a new ebike from an online shop. It arrived in good working order mechanically, but had some small but full thickness paint scratches on the downtube. I asked the shop for a discount, and they countered with an accessory like grips or pedals. What do you think I should do? The bike was on clearance, so I got a good deal, but it is certainly frustrating because I did not agree to buy a bike with this damage.

Take the accessory and touch up the paint yourself. An artist's brush and some time with a custom mix and you are back in good shape. See if the dealer can give you a paint code. You already got the discount price on a clearance bike. I'd expect a chance of some issues with a clearance purchase.
