Hi Everyone!

I just got my first e bike yesterday. It's a Specialized Vado 5 SL EQ. I was sold on the ride because it handles very much like my old analog bike (Specialized Sirrus 3.0). I'm 63 and still want a bit of a workout when I ride and an SL e bike gives me just the push I need.

Besides having an NFL MVP quarterback, KC is very bike friendly for a midwestern town. There a many miles of asphalt and concrete bike bike trails that follow the creeks. A hybrid bike works well on these trails.

The review here on the Vado 4 SL EQ was very helpful in selecting this bike. I selected the 5 because I liked the ride better with the carbon fork and spring handlebars. Having the bike computer installed and properly set up was also a plus. Props to my local B&M bike shop (Erik's) for setting everything up on my new ride (and phone) and making the buying experience a positive one.

I only have about 40 miles on it but so far, everything is working great. There was still 40% in the tank after those 40 mile so I don't think I'll be suffering from range anxiety.

Safe riding and health to all.

Good looking bike! I forgot who won the Superbowl, so I clicked on your post. Happy riding!

So, Super Bowl Champs. You must be from Pittsburg or Boston.

Oh, Kansas City. You mean the current champs, not the most champs!

Just kidding...😎

Great bike. Enjoy!

Is this the Same Erik's that's located in WI ? I'm going there next week , but it's a 9 hour round trip : In Michigan where I am located there's just nothing at all anywhere

They are a chain of bike stores in the Midwest. We have 2 in the KC area. You can check their stock online. As I understand it, they can move stock between stores as necessary. When the Vado SL piqued my interest, I could see what variants (4 EQ SL and 5 EQ SL) in my frame size were available in town. My LBS had the 5 and I really liked it (and Court said it was worth the extra money) so it worked out well for me. Good luck with your search. I think these bikes can be hard to find.

My main concern is geometry : Bikes from Trek like teh Dual Sport work well. The FX is just to small Regardless of Sizing
