Which direction are they installed?
On one bike, I have, they are installed with the open side towards the ball bearings.
On the other bike, they are installed with the open side facing away from the ball bearings, this bike also has a tapered rubber cone that has a lip of the rubber cone fits into the open side of the dustcover.
This rubber cone is creating a tight seal against the dust cover, and against the outside of the axle hub and covers the adjusting nuts/cones on the axle...
