DT Swiss Hybrid Hubs

Upper bound is 180Nm.

The Sunringle hubs we are using can take up to 230 Nm no problem.
What model hubs? Definitely wroth looking at.

I have DT 350's in one form or another on all of my ebikes but one. I think only three of them can fit a Hybrid cuz of the limited size options. One Hybrid is on a 30a, 52v BBSHD'd cargo bike (Mongoose Envoy+Sapim Strong+MTX39) that gets some seriously heavy loads. The other is on an emtb with a Cyc X1 on the back (GG Smash, DT Alpine, FR560). No issues so far on either.

Both of my Big Ride 197mm hubs have the steel cassette upgrade. One looks perfect at 1500 miles. I just pulled it apart to check a month or so ago. I have just over 1000 miles on my Surly Big Fat Dummy that also has a Big Ride with a steel body added. Haven't looked at it recently but expect its fine. Both of these have 52v/30a BBSHD's on the back.

DT just made the 24T solid ratchets available on Amazon for about $50.

The best part about the Hybrid is it comes with the steel body and the solid 24T ratchets for essentially the same cost as a standard 350.

Here are the ones we use.

They are not inexpensive ... but definitely excellent for us so far.

It's good to bring out even little things like your hubs are high end, so much is focused on other components, but really every single component should be equally upgraded for for a good Ebike

Hey, you hub mavens. What are the first signs your hub is giving up the ghost? I know these Quanta hubs on my Bolton Frey will die on me. I just hope they don't leave me ten miles or more from home. So I want to catch the disease in early stages. Thanks in advance. 👍

This brings up a good point and I have a perfect example.
@pushkar with your permission I’d like to post pics of my bike I got from Luna and my experience. I think people will get a better idea on what it takes to build a COMPLETE ebike vs one that’s incomplet.

Abnormal noise, clunking, signs of slipping. Trust me, you will know when it’s about to happen. ;)

Sure. Go ahead. 👍

FWIW I know two guys that have Biktrix Juggernaut FS Ultra bikes ( 197mm ) and BOTH of them have blown up their rear hubs. Not sure if there Quanta or not. Two of my other buddys have the Quanta hubs F & R on their new rides. Good thing they know someone who knows how to build up wheels and works for beer. Another friend swears by Industry 9 Hubs. I like the Hope pro's myself. Definitely the wider you go in the rear the more potential issues your gonna have.IMO.

i9s are good i heard. They will only sell to OEs in pairs. for kindernay config, that wouldnt work.
hope is good too. IIRC Hope, Hayes etc share same factory - so SRC shares a lot with hope. Some brake parts are also very similar.

Can you change the freehub from aluminum to steel on the SRC hub?
