DPC-14 Display Loses Time of Day

HI All
I have 2 bikes each with the BB0S2 kit and the DPC-14 Full colour display. They both have the same issue.
Has anyone experienced that the time of day does not keep accurate time.
After switching off battery, some times removing it to charge when I power up again the time of day incorrect.
While powered up the time is accurate, only when not in use does problem show up
The Year-Month-Day stays accurate.
Appreciate any information anyone might have about this.

I have not had that specific problem, but I have had two DPC 14's replaced in quick succession. Both faulty - switching off unexpectedly, flickering display.

I haven't figured out how to set the time on mine yet, just doesn't seem to want to work.

I'm still riding with C965 and C963 displays. Almost bullet proof IME. I go riding not watching a color display. The DPC 14 has always been a PIA display.

I’m sitting on an EggRider v2. I understand it remains in development but is a great alternative with smart phone capabilities with brilliant color and adjustability, or just the nearly watch sized display.

This unit has a battery on the main pcb board which can be replaced. Im assuming the battery is for the clock.

Also look for pictures showing disassemby of the DPC-14/850C. I used these pictures for disassembling mine to flash some opensource software.

The batteries are tough to replace. More likely a bad display.

The ability of an embedded controller (like the DPC-14 with no contact to the outside world) to keep track the the time-of day relies on an internal battery same as the motherboard on your PC.

Yes, internal battery is hard to replace on DPC-14 but is cheaper depending on your skills. Just offering that as a suggestion.

Replacing the DPC-14 with a another DPC-14 with working internal battery will certainly fix the problem although more $$...up to the user
