Display protection

Has anyone have a good way to cover the display when you park your bike? We used a shower cap over our CB radios on our ATVs when it was raining.

Since they are all different size... Make your own rectangular "shower cap" of a piece of neoprene, glue the corners with Aquaseal neoprene glue. Something like this:

If you make it tight, with sides going under the rear an inch, Velcro strap won't be necessary.

According to the Rad website: The components are all water resistant and work very well in wet conditions, but you should take care to keep your bike parked indoors whenever possible and in a dry location when in storage. The display, motor, battery pack, and throttle are all designed to operate just fine in heavy rain, normal drizzle, or a soggy wet morning commute in Seattle, but you should always take care to dry off your bike and store it properly between use to prevent corrosion. I take that to mean no protection is needed, but a shower cap or a plastic bag should work fine.

I always worry about the USB port on the LCD display. Seems like a good place for dust and moisture to get into the LCD display. I haven't had any issues in +2 years with my USB ports; but, I also don't use them very often (1-2 times a year). Might be worth taping up the USB port for extra protection.

Guess I am more worried about the sun, I am in Arizona for the winter. Think I’ll stick an old sock over it. Thanks guys

Heck, a Hanes ankle sock makes a great cover and if I for get it I can just grab one off my foot.

I use a pair of heavy canvas "fruit picker sleeves":

I slide them over the handlebars when transporting the bike or when parking outdoors.



They are water resistant and keep dirt & moisture out of the display and controls.

Forgot to mention, mine came with a rubber plug.
