Dash e3 second battery question?

I just bought a dash e3, and was wondering if it could be possible to use the path + rear mounted battery that's built into the rack of the bike on the back of the dash, by ordering it through Currie or a dealer (and basically manually switch the power connection?) For extended range, anyone out there know if this could be done considering that they are the same company, series and voltage?

Without a parts list it's hard to know if connectors are compatible.
Why not carry a spare Dash battery on your rear rack and when the battery runs low, just exchange the batteries out?

Having had both, they have a very different mechanical interface. The batteries are different geometries and you'd have to devise some way of securing the path+ battery to the dash (or vice versa) while keeping the connections attached...

As far as electrical compatibility, I suspect they're both the same (no proof though).

I think that's the best option. It will help you avoid warranty issues too.
Hey what's up Chris I saw you're interview on you tube, bro you're shop looks sick! What made you decide of all things to get into this and open a ebike store. How popular are electric bikes in new york? Did you notice a slow down since the "banned electric bikes" in newyork?

Thanks Kyle I appreciate it, it means a lot as we are constantly growing and improving. I like this space, we just moved here in November and we're actually planning another move for next year, hopefully in a higher traffic area.

I got into electric bikes because I believe in the technology and I feel it has the potential to have a really positive impact on our society. It's tough to get into it when the market is still growing, but I've fought for things before and I feel this is a worthwhile cause. Electric bikes are popular in NY, but they will be more popular once we get the law cleared up.

I have been working real hard on getting these politicians on track and we might be getting a ruling in the next couple weeks. I'm actually taking a bunch of ebikes up to Albany next week to give test rides to all the powers that be. Wish me luck. It will be cool to look back and think that my efforts might have had something to do with a greener society in NY.

You and the other popular ebike store's should come together, and organize a big event. Take advantage of a already popular day, something that people will be at like a festival. And bring out a bunch of ebikes from different manufacturers, and let people know what you do(offer free test tides) and give out a couple free prizes. This sort of thing gets people's attention. (And boost sales in the process)reach out to the venders and see if you can gain some sponsors Information is key, mostly because people are still in the dark about this wonderful technology, I think if every new yorker knew for a cpl thousand dollars they never would have to pay for a cab, or take a bus again they would be all over it. As far as the law maker's with there head's up there butts well talk about the great environmental advantages of the electric bike. All politicians are crazy about the "green initiative". I think you're going through a challenging time with all this but it will be great when you turn it around, and these are flying off the shelf like in European countries. I forsee ebikes are right around the corner of taking off. My guess is college age guys and ladies like myself love this kind of thing. Let's all step up and work on getting the word out!:D

Thanks Kyle I totally agree and I appreciate your support. I definitely agree we are on the brink and I look forward to what the future holds. I working on planning this impromptu event in Albany and I will post in the events section when it becomes more solidified in the next couple of days.
